About Stephen’s Wood Manual Medicine
Welcome to Stephen’s Wood Manual Medicine. I provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses to manual therapy professionals. My goal is to teach trained professionals a wide a wide range of mobilisation and manipulative techniques which will enhance your current skillset and dramatically improve patient outcomes. My courses are fully accredited and insurable, tailored to therapists at a range of career levels. I also run workshops and training days covering a wide variety of topics. This will allow those already qualified to further develop their skills in a supported environment.
Courses are face to face and limited in size. This ensures that participants get my full attention and that the quality remains high. A fully referenced course booklet, with photos and descriptions of all techniques will be given with each course. My courses will generally be run at my clinic in Cork but are run in other locations occasionally.
About Me : BSc Ost Med D.O. (1st class Hons) , MOCI, S&C
I hold a BSc. (Hons 1st Class) in Osteopathic Medicine, I am registered osteopath and run Stephen’s Wood Osteopathic & Wellness Clinic in Cork. I have five years’ experience teaching
structural osteopathy, anatomy and pathophysiology at degree level.
I also hold qualifications in Orthopaedic Dry Needling, Craniosacral Therapy, Strength & Conditioning, and Sports Taping and Strapping. I typically travel to the UK about three times every year to train with various manipulative practitioners in order to enhance my own skills.
I have an extensive background in sports including athletics, boxing, triathlon and bodybuilding. Previous to becoming an osteopath, I served as an officer in the Irish Defence Forces, where I held a wide variety of appointments at home and overseas, including service in the Special Forces Unit of the Irish Defence Forces, The Army Ranger Wing.
All of these things, combined with a love for teaching others, give me a unique insight in the way I treat and teach.
